Membership Information

Professional membership to RCAA is open to all rehabilitation counsellors or rehabilitation counselling students who meet the membership requirements detailed below.

Applications for membership are invited from persons who are able to demonstrate that they meet the following membership requirements.

Full Member

The applicant shall identify as a rehabilitation counsellor; and possess a tertiary qualification in rehabilitation counselling from an accredited degree program at an institution recognised by the Association.

Student Member

The applicant shall be a bona fide student enrolled in a tertiary degree in rehabilitation counselling in an accredited degree program at an institution recognised by the Association. Benefits of Membership

  • Reduced registration fee to RCAA forums
  • A quarterly newsletter which provides information on activities within Australasia and internationally, and updates on publications, research projects and topics of interest in the field.
  • Through RCAA's formal affiliation with the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association RCAA members are entitled to member rates for ARCA's electronic publications and member rates for ARCA sponsored professional development events. RCAA members also be able to share information with ARCA members via a listserv.
  • Access to professional development opportunities provided by the Career Industry Council of Australia’s (CICA) 12 membership organisations. CICA is the national body of career practitioner organisations, representing the:

Membership of RCAA provides linkage to rehabilitation counsellors throughout Australasia and the USA. Members are expected to support the objectives of the RCAA as expressed in the Constitution.

Professional Indemnity
