Careers Industry Council of Australia


CICA is the National Peak Body for the Career Industry in Australia. Its establishment in 2000 was a world first and it continues to be a leader in the field. It is a focal point for government and other stakeholders concerned for and interested in promoting quality career development services in Australia.

CICA will work to:

Consult and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.

Enhance collegiality within the career industry to achieve agreed goals.

Facilitate strategic liaisons with stakeholders and policy makers.

Promote professional standards and practice within the career industry.

Enhance relationships within the international career development community.

The Career Industry Council is comprised of 12 member associations. RCAA is a member association.

Further, RCAA is a member association of CICA, the Career Industry Council of Australia. Accordingly, RCAA members are required to comply with CICA professional standards including a requirement for ongoing professional development. CICA requires a minimum of twenty-five (25) hours of CPD per year.

Vocational Rehabilitation Association UK


The VRA is a multi-disciplinary UK-wide organisation supporting and promoting all those working in vocational rehabilitation whether in the public, private, voluntary or third sector.

The Association exists to:

Help people working in the field of disability and employment.

Promote and develop their personal, professional and practical skills, and

Maintain their awareness of a broad range of rehabilitation issues.

Understanding Vocational Rehabilitation: Vocational rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary intervention offered to those with physical, psychological and/or social difficulties enabling a return to work or preventing loss of work.

RCAA is formally affiliated with VRA UK a vocational rehabilitation association aimed at helping its members to develop their professional practice and to maintain their awareness of a broad range of disability issues.
